Resume

As an accomplished mediator with over a decade of experience, Stacie Hausner, Esq. has successfully mediated thousands of cases across a wide range of practice areas, including employment, business, real estate, personal injury, insurance coverage, construction defect, malpractice, civil rights, sexual assault and entertainment law. She has been mediating full time at ADR Services, Inc. since 2016, and prior to that, she mediated regularly for the California state and federal courts, as well as various agencies, including DFEH, DCBA and CCR.

Ms. Hausner has been recognized for her expertise and experience in the field of mediation. She has been awarded the Excellence in Employment Mediation by the Southern California Mediation Association after being invited as its keynote speaker. She has been inducted as a Distinguished Fellow of the International Academy of Mediators (IAM), an invitation-only organization with some of the world’s most experienced commercial mediators, where membership is a high honor with rigorous standards for selection. She also has been selected as a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals.

In addition to her extensive mediation experience, Ms. Hausner is a seasoned professor and mediation trainer, regularly teaching mediation skills to practitioners, attorneys, and law students. She has taught thousands of students as an Adjunct Professor teaching “Mediation Theory and Practice”, “Advanced Mediation”, and “Mediating the Litigated Case” at the Straus Institute at Pepperdine School of Law, where she has been teaching every semester since 2016. She also annually trains mediators for the United States District Court’s Pro Bono mediation program and presents frequent CLE trainings on various topics to law firms, bar associations, and mediator organizations. Additionally, she has served as a Board Member for the California Lawyers Association’s (CLA) ADR Executive Committee, an Executive Committee Member for the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s (LACBA) ADR Section, and a Board Member of the Santa Monica Bar Association.

Prior to becoming a mediator with ADR Services, Inc., Ms. Hausner had an extensive career as a litigator, practicing law at both defense and plaintiff firms. She received an LL.M. in Dispute Resolution at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law, where she gathered important dispute resolution skills to accompany her knowledge of the law and insights toward resolution.

Counsel have consistently praised Ms. Hausner’s ability to settle disputes in an empathetic, caring, and tenacious manner, and for showing the intelligence and skills needed to guide parties toward settlement, regardless of the emotional or legal complexity of the matters in dispute. She is known for her use of effective tools and creative resolutions to reach settlement, even when an impasse seems imminent. She is praised for remaining invested in the process even after the time allotment for the mediation, and for diligently following up with cases that do not initially settle through the final resolution of the case.
